How Much Money do Popular YouTubers Make?
YouTube. It’s everywhere. If you don’t know what it is, then chances are you live under a rock. Want to listen to a song? YouTube. Find a good product review? Youtube. Learn how to cut your own bangs? YouTube. You could waste an entire day just watching YouTube video after YouTube video. But have you ever stopped to wonder how much money the people behind it all are making? Well, if you have, then you’ve come to the right place. And if you haven’t… feel free to keep reading if you’d like, but nobody’s forcing you.
DISCLAIMER: Please be reminded that being a successful YouTuber isn’t just about putting out good content- a lot of it involves luck. Very few people are lucky enough to make it big on YouTube. So please please please don’t make being a YouTuber your number one career goal. Thank you for reading!
Here are the top ten most financially successful YouTubers from 2018.
10. Logan Paul- 14.5 million dollars
Ah, Logan Paul. As it turns out, the controversy goes over well in the entertainment industry… until YouTube suspends your earnings for three months. Still, Logan Paul made a good deal of money last year. Why do good things happen to bad people?
9. PewDiePie- 15.5 million dollars
Apparently being the number one most subscribed channel on YouTube doesn’t necessarily mean you’re the wealthiest. While PewDiePie (otherwise known as Felix Kjellberg) may be incredibly problematic, his followers have been incredibly loyal to him throughout all his scandals and mishaps… for better or for worse.
8. Jacksepticeye- 16 million dollars
Jacksepticeye, or Sean McLaughlin, is 28 years old and would probably be playing video games in his mom’s basement if not for YouTube and his millions of subscribers. Compared to PewDiePie and Logan Paul, Jacksepticeye is incredibly un-problematic… so hats off to him I guess.
7. VanossGaming- 17 million dollars
The next guy on this list also runs a gaming account, which really tells you a lot about the kind of people that spend their weekends watching YouTube videos. His real name is Evan Fong, and he’s 26 years old- two years younger than Sean McLaughlin, with about 3 million more subscribers.
6. Markiplier- 17.5 million dollars
And the trend continues with yet another gaming account on the list. This YouTuber actually sort of included his real name (Mark Edward Fischbach) in his user, unlike the previous two. He is 29 years old, and when he was 24 he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel.
5. Jeffree Star- 18 million dollars
Jeffree Star has been around for as long as anyone can remember. He’s managed to stay relevant ever since MySpace was a thing- I mean, he’s clearly great at this. Jeffree also owns the cosmetic brand Jeffree Star Cosmetics, which makes about 100 million dollars every year. Highly impressive.
4. DanTDM- 18.5 million dollars
And now, back to your regularly scheduled program. Yup. Another gaming account. Daniel Middleton also makes money by selling merchandise and going on tours. Plus, he’s British. Do I really need to say anything more?
3. Dude Perfect- 20 million dollars
Dude Perfect is a group of five guys who make money doing fancy trick shots. That’s all there is to say, they’re pretty un-problematic, and to be honest I really respect that.
2. Jake Paul- 21.5 million dollars
Last year, Jake Paul made seven million dollars more than his older brother. I guess that’s one sibling rivalry with an obvious winner.
It really is everyday bro.
1. Ryan ToysReview- 22 million dollars
You guys. This kid is SEVEN YEARS OLD. If that doesn’t blow your mind… I don’t know what will. He makes a heck of a lot of money just by talking about what he thinks about toys. Kids and parents look to him for advice, and he delivers.
