Just as the world was falling back into place, it seems the COVID-19 virus has supplied us with yet another variant. The variant originated from South Africa last month, and has more than 50 mutations that can carry it across previously immunized bodies. Current vaccines may offer some protection, the top two most effective being Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna. News has brought along high regulation of air travel, and many countries are once again retreating into cover from international travel. The United States has held up against the variant for a surprising amount of time, with reportedly no cases until the first of December. The world has gone through hard times, yet the end seems to be in sight. With united people working together with united efforts, this pandemic might finally be vanquished.
