This year is an “S” year for Apple©, which means changing the design for the new iPhone® was not the main concern. Apple©’s next move wasn’t to create a new look, but to change the internals of the iPhone® 6- revised and faster.

The iPhone® 6s may not have the appeal of a brand new design, but the fact is that “S” iPhone® actually last longer on the market according to Apple©. Even though there isn’t a huge redesign to the exterior, there are a couple minor tweaks: the 6s will have a stronger, more shatter resistant screen and a sturdier aluminum body that is less prone to mishaps. It will also come in the choice colors of silver, space gray, gold, and now rose gold. Both the iPhone® 6s and the iPhone® 6s plus are noticeably heavier than their predecessor, but that is due to the internal technology upgrades.

For the first time on any iPhone®, Apple© introduces a new way of use. The iPhone® 6s can now sense the amount of pressure applied to its surface, creating a whole new experience. 3D Touch, a shortcut to the things you do the most, brings Peek and Pop. It lets you preview content and act on it, without actually having to open it. For example, you can peek at an email by lightly pressing on it, and if you would like to pop it open, just press a little firmer.

Memories are now vividly recorded with 12 megapixel photos, high resolution videos, and Live Photos. Live Photos are basically gifs with sound that can be replayed over and over to relive moments of excitement. The new 12mp sensor uses advanced pixel technology, fitting millions of pixels in for a sharp photo that is true to color. The 6s also includes a higher resolution selfie camera with retina flash that creates the perfect lighting for whatever environment you may be in. No matter where you go, the iPhone® 6s has the camera power to capture all the moments in life.

The launch of the iPhone 6s was Friday, Sept. 25th, and pre-orders began more than a week earlier. On the day of release, many people were lined up outside of Apple stores around the globe. Students and teachers at CVMS have been in on the new release too. “The 3D Touch feature is pretty useful,” says Mrs. Pollard, “I’ve only had my new iPhone for two days, but so far it’s been great. The screen size of the 6s is definitely an upgrade from my 4s.” With its savvy looks and brilliant new features, the iPhone 6s may be the best cell phone up to date.
