Bat Safety
Every single year, thousands of Mexican Free-tailed bats fly from underneath the Congress Avenue Bridge for their late night snack. The bats wake up from their 4-month long hibernation in March. In the evening, as long as the weather permits, the Mexican Free-tailed bats go out to feed themselves. These bats are part of a maternity colony and will give birth sometime in the summer.
