A Quiet Place Review (No Spoilers)

If they hear you, they hunt you.

On April 6th, A Quiet Place was released into theaters. Starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, this thriller tells the story of a family struggling to survive in silence because of the terrifying monsters that can sense sound from miles away, and are always hungry. The family has an advantage because of their ability to speak in sign language due to their deaf daughter. They must take extreme measures to keep each other safe and silent. With most of the human race dead, the Abbotts have to fend for themselves, but things aren’t easy when Evelyn Abbott is pregnant.

Director John Krasinski did an amazing job capturing the importance of family in a time of crisis. A perfect combination of horror and love give this movie the 95% on Rotten tomatoes it deserves. “A tautly original genre-bending exercise, technically sleek and accomplished, with some vivid, scary moments, though it’s a little too in love with the stoned logic of its own premise.” Says writer Owen Gleiberman. From the very first scene to the very last scene, Krasinski’s work will leave you shaking. Even the audience was too afraid to make a noise during the film in fear of the creatures getting them too.

This film is rated PG13 and I don’t recommend it to the faint of heart, for even I left the theater feeling weary. Every minute of the movie will leave you at the edge of your seat. Outstanding acting, nerve-racking scenes, and amazing screenplay make this movie a must-see for thrill seekers.
