STORY: 8.5/10

The story is pretty unique (for a sci-fi spoof). In this wacky universe, Planet Spaceball is running out of air, so they send the ship, Spaceball I, to steal all the air from Druidia. Coincidentally, Princess Vespa is getting married to Prince Valium on the same day. Unfortunately, she doesn’t want to get married to him, so she runs away. Meanwhile, Lone Starr and Barf are confronted by Pizza the Hut, who wants them to give him 1,000,000 space-bucks. King Roland then contacts them and offers 1,000,000 space-bucks if they return his runaway daughter.

WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN?

Yes. The movie is funny, charming, and just a blast to watch. This is one of the only movies I’ve truly had a lot of fun with. It didn’t really seem like a movie, more like a skit, or an inside joke, that you, the audience, is a part of. This and the complete and utter randomness of the movie make it interesting to watch several times.

GENERA SCORE: 10/10

This score basically means: how well did the movie do in the genre it’s trying to be. How comedic was the comedy? How scary was the horror? And for this movie, I give it a perfect 10. 95% of the jokes in the movie made me burst out laughing. The jokes were witty, well-placed, and all around hilarious. The silliness of the movie allows you to relax more than other movies. You never feel suspense, anger, or any other feeling other than giddiness and joy. And that’s the point. To be funny and nothing else. And the movie aces that.

OVERALL SCORE: 9.25/10

Overall, I believe that Spaceballs is all it’s cracked up to be… a silly movie, meant only for laughs. But I had fun watching it. I hope in the future my friends will watch it with me and we can share the laughs. It’s perfect for bonding after all. But despite all of that, it still has a few flaws. A few of the jokes just weren’t funny. You can’t have every joke, be hilarious. Different people have different scenes of humor. And that’s a comedy weakness. But, in total the movie was outstanding.
