Q&A with Ms.Yung

Ms. Angela Yung is a sixth grade science teacher at our school. The past years she taught as a math teacher at Canyon Vista, but now a science teacher.

Here is a quick Q&A with Ms. Yung.

Q: What made you decide to start teaching science?

I taught Math for over ten years and was just ready for a change.

Q: Do you miss teaching math?

I do miss teaching math a little bit, but I’m having loads of fun teaching science.

Q: How long have you been teaching? Have you taught at any other schools?

This will be my 15th year of teaching! I’ve taught at 3 different schools (Huijia in Beijing, Brushy Creek Elem., and Canyon Vista).

Q: How did you end up teaching 6th grade?

After teaching 5th grade for 3 years, I wanted to just focus on math, so I decided to go up to middle school.

Q: What is your favorite part of teaching?

My favorite part of teaching is joking around with the kids and building relationships with them.

Q: What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I’ve always wanted to work with kids. I use to think I could be a pediatrician, but I can’t stand the sight of blood, so teaching was the next best thing for me!

Q: What college did you go to? How long? What major?

I went to UT Austin and majored in Education.

Q: What major changes have you seen to CV over the years?

The amount of technology that we use with the students has increased significantly since I first started here at the Canyon in 2006!
