It’s a new year, and Donald Trump will be the president for the next 4 years (2025-2029). This was decided on Election Day (November 5). Donald Trump beat out Kamala Harris for the presidency.

“I think he (Trump) got more religious after he dodged the shot, that’s what I think,” a 7th grade student said.
Trump’s vice president is J.D. Vance, a senator from Ohio. Vance believes in protectionism, a policy of putting tariffs on other countries to promote business. He believes that China is the biggest threat to America. He also believes in giving tax cuts to big businesses.
“(The place I felt the most politically motivated?) Maybe the mock election at school,” Student said.
After his inauguration, Trump got a drop in all his criminal charges, which include Jan. 6, mishandling of national security documents, and falsifying business records. This was decided in Trump v. United States.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative foundation, has a project for Trump’s presidency called Project 2025 (viewable here). Trump has denied all relation to this project, but has many officials from the Heritage Foundation in his administration.
“Probably like a week or two until the election (The election ramped up),” Student said. “Because, I saw a lot on the news about Trump and Kamala Harris, they’re saying things back and forth.”
