Across the US, Teslas are being vandalized by critics of the Trump administration due to the actions of Tesla CEO and director of the Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk.
Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and owner of various companies like SpaceX and X, has recently been involved in government as a member of Trump’s Cabinet. Musk is in charge of eliminating wasted materials and resources in the government. However, this effort has backfired as critics are protesting his mass firings across the government.
“I think it’s disrespectful (to vandalize Teslas) because Elon Musk did spend a lot of time on his Teslas and making them,” Devina Kumara (7) said.
Many people in the community have owned Teslas due to their modern features and feel.
“I would say that I feel bad because again, there are some people who owned Teslas before all this government stuff went on, I mean I don’t know what to tell them because I’m not in their situation and I know it’s hard for them,” Ms. Buentello said.
Many Tesla dealerships are facing damage to their vehicles over these protests boiling over.

”I’m sure it’s (the vandalism) is at night in front of people’s houses while their cars are parked at their houses would be my guess. The light of day would be kinda hard to do that,” Mr. Parks said.
Many people believe that this vandalism was started by the Trump election, but it is a phase and will not last.
“Honestly, I think (they would stop) if they saw people getting arrested and going to jail, I believe in having due process of law is really important so if they can prove it’s been vandalized then they probably should be arrested for vandalizing,” Buentello said.
