Is North Korea An Imminent Threat?

Kim Jong Un is the supreme dictator of North Korea. Or as he likes to be referred a ” The Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea”. Kim Jong Un took over North Korea following his father, Kim Jong Il’s death in 2011. North Korea has launched 15 ballistic missiles, all in 2017. They have been threatening the United States and Japan. It raises the question of if North Korea is a real threat, or is it all just scare-tactics?

In my opinion, North Korea is a real threat because they want sanctions from the United States, and are willing to take  any measures to get what they want. Apart from sanctions they want the one thing everyone wants. Money. The GDP per capita for North Korea is $583. An average North Korean makes half of what an American makes in a week in a year. The people of North Korea are living a lie. The North Korean people do not know what is going on with the rest of the world, as the government shelters people from news, and portrays a message that all countries are bad except for their own. Most families even have portraits of the past North Korean supreme leaders in their houses.

The number of missiles being tested has grown rapidly in 2017. Kim Jong Un is certainly trying to make a point.  This is not something to take lightly, this matter should be taken very seriously. President Donald Trump made a comment in the United Nations meeting, saying that the United States will totally destroy North Korea if that is the only viable option. All America should, and can do, is take precautionary measures to prepare for an attack by North Korea on U.S soil.
