Introducing Art Club
Art Club is an after school program hosted by Mrs. Loera and Mr. Ramirez as a way for students to create new projects and learn about how art affects the community. There are individual projects as well as group projects for students to participate in. Students in Art Club create one to two art projects a month as well as help out in society
Mrs. Loera had described the art club as a way to learn about community service while integrating art into it. Art is represented everywhere in the world and is an important part of customs and social relations throughout history.
Last year, Art Club volunteered to help face paint for an elementary school carnival. “It was pretty fun,” said 7th grader Emily G., who helped at Laurel Mountain’s carnival. Not only did she get to face paint but she and her friends also had a chance to play some carnival games.
This year, Mrs. Loera is planning on making mosaics and other interesting projects that haven’t been announced yet. Art Club is a great way to explore and is held in Mrs. Loera’s classroom in the Fine Arts hallway after school on various weekdays. Students may meet up more than once a week to work on projects.
