Book Review: The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding
Prosper Redding’s family has a never-ending fortune, thanks to 800-year-old Alastor. Turns out Prosper’s great great great great great great great great great great great something grandfather made a contract with this fiend, in exchange for eternal servitude, but Honor Redding broke this contract, so now the Redding family is cursed and destined to be doomed by the unforgiving demon out to kill every last Redding. Alastor now lives inside Proper and will gain his full power on Prosper’s 13th birthday. Now it’s up to him to trap Alastor before he can escape. Meanwhile, Alastor has his own problems at home.
This book is marvelous, I love it because it has an interesting story and I never got lost, not even once. I couldn’t put this book down. I also love the author, Alexandra Bracken, because she chooses excellent details, and even though Alastor’s a demon she can make anyone gets attached to him and feel for him. he has his own personality. This author also wrote the Darkest Minds and the series of Sabrina and the Black Cloak.
This book’s theme is about trust, betrayal, and friendship. It takes unexpected twists and turns, while Alastor goes from fiend to friend, and back again. Prosperity Oceanus Redding needs to learn who to trust, even if it is a demon within him. He learns throughout this journey that certain people you thought were your friends, may or may not be what you think they are.
In this book, you get to see the different personalities (and may I say amazing) stories they bring you. Trust me when I say: THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!
When you read it, you can then tell me how much you liked it.
