The Kronos Chronicles Book Review
The Kronos Chronicles is a series of books, but for today we’re starting with number one: The Cabinet Of Wonders.
Petra and her father live in Okno, a town in Bohemia. Petra is a twelve-year-old, whose father has powers having him be able to shift metal in a delicate way. He makes tin animals, who feed off oil and sells them for a living. Petra’s is named astrophil, a spider, and her best friend. He and Petra travel the world to get Petra’s father’s eyes back, who has been stolen by a horrendous prince. The prince wants the powers of her father for himself. Petra meets new friends here and there, and discover she too can control metal, meanwhile she can also predict the future, one of her mother’s powers, who died before Petra was born. Will Petra and her tin spider make it back to Bohemia alive, or will they trip up and die in the hands of prince Rofoldo?
This book is great, it’s fantasy with a twist of history and history with a touch of magic. This book’s story is just amazing. When the author describes things, it’s incredibly detailed. The author, Marie Rutkoski, is an amazing author because her imagination is incredible, she makes very interesting stories, some depressing, others joyful, this book is just great because the story is intriguing and cool, and she includes details of history.
This book is cool, the imagination put into it is exquisite, and peculiar. Magic has been taken to the next level of understanding. That’s why it’s so cool. You really get to know the characters and how they react to things. They get scared and sad, but at certain times can be brave, looking death in the eye.
This is only the first book, and I intend to make more reviews on the second and third books. These Kronos Chronicles are plain amazing.
