Positive thinking is so important for your mental health. The power of your words correlates with your mind. If you speak negatively about yourself or your life, the outcome will be negative, just like the information you are putting in your mind. If you speak positively, the outcome will be much more positive and it will impact your life majorly.

Positive thinking all begins with positive self-talk. If you are constantly judging and bullying yourself you are going to eventually feel so depressed. I am reading a non-fiction book about speaking kindly and positive to yourself. In the book, there was a quote that I live by now, “If you wouldn’t say it to your best friend, don’t say it about yourself.”

Affirmations are a great way to practice talking kindly to yourself. Affirmations are repetitions of positive statements. You repeat these statements about 10 times to program it into your mind. Some examples of affirmations that I say are, Everyday in every way I am getting better and better. I am safe. I am healthy. I am smart. I will get a deep and restful sleep. I will wake up feeling refreshed and energized. I do affirmations while I wind down for bed and when I get ready for school. Depending on what time of day I say them, affects certain affirmations I say.

Another method for thinking positive is to meditate. Meditating allows you a time to focus on your breathing, and on certain things. It could be a sleep meditation, a pain management meditation, a health meditation, a beginners meditation, a stress management, a life purpose management, a spiritual healing, a relaxation, and there are tons more to try. Meditation is a way to stop everything in our crazy lives and help ourselves. It is a gift, to

focus on one thing breathing while listening to your teacher guide your journey of whatever meditation you choose. Guided meditation apps can be a great way to begin this process.

Positive thinking is so important and these are just a couple ways to start practicing kindness to yourself. Whatever you say constantly will program in your mind, and why would you want judgmental thoughts when you could be building yourself up and giving yourself confidence.

Here is a video talking about meditation:
