Should We Read books and Why? Survey At The End

Margaux Deveze, Reporter

I think we should read books. Most people would recognize themself if I said that “I will read it if I need to but otherwise…” so by the end of this article I hope to have changed your mind.

The first because it helps to increase your knowledge. When you go further in details about a subject it is called general knowledge but a book more than anyone else an help you learn more about literature itself. The different genres of books, and the different form of writing are two examples of what you can then recognize.

The second because it is proved to have a positive affect on people like reducing increased amount of stress and helping with emotional health. Mostly because when you read you travel to other places. Not only you can travel to Europe, Australia, and Russia but you can also travel in time, to an imaginary world, or in space. Reading a book is like traveling for free whenever you want, wherever you want.

The last but not least because when you read a book you always do a small reflection of yourself in the character. That means very simply that at the beginning of any book you read you are going to find a character that resembles you and you are going to compare his actions to yours. “What would I have done if I was….” is the most common question asked by the reader. A reflection like this helps you feel better about yourself, which is very important.
