Spring Break

Stress and pressure accompany students everyday. Turning assignments in on time, obtaining good grades, and paying attention are common goals students share that may be hard to achieve. They don’t have much time to take in what’s being thrown at them. A break is the best time for reposition.

Spring Break is a time built for students and teachers to take time off and relax. It’s nice to have a break for your brain to cool down for a few moments. There are plenty of places to go to, things to do, sights to see, but we don’t usually have a lot of time. Many use up this one week for vacation, like 7th grader Andrea Y., who’s going to Houston.

The break is one week before Spring peaks in, meaning that the weather is in for a change. “It’s usually sunny,” Mr. Vara said. “I like the sun.” The weather creates a perfect time to go outside and play, eat spring treats, and simply rest. It’s nice that the week off from school was perfectly planned for the outside conditions.

“It gives us a break from school and the stressfulness,” 7th grader Divya N. said. Students need more sleep and Spring Break gives them a great opportunity to catch up on it. The stress and pressure that is loaded on students to get high grades can be overwhelming, which can even make students perform worse. It’s superb if our minds work hard, but it could lead to negative consequences if we work too hard.

Spring Break spans from March 10-14, but in essence, counting the weekends, is 9 days off. This gives time for students and teachers to go on vacation and candidly refresh. We all need those little moments to collect ourselves. After we get back from Spring Break, we can continue on, focused and restored.
