Who’s your favorite teacher at Canyon Vista? Many students at Canyon Vista enjoy Coach Stevenson’s teaching style and sense of humor. Coach Stevenson teaches leadership and is an athletics coach. “I like leadership because it is about a lot of little life lessons that I could have used when I was in middle school,” Stevenson says. “I love coaching football because it teaches athletes to be tough… physically and mentally.”

Before Stevenson was one of Canyon Vista’s favorite teacher, he grew up just outside Detroit with six older brothers and sisters. After graduating from Eastern Michigan, Stevenson worked in business consulting, but he didn’t enjoy it much so he took off and traveled around the world. He went to Isla Mujeres, Mexico, Phi Phi Island, Thailand, Nias Island, Indonesia, Rarotonga, and many more countries in Europe. After he traveled all around the world, he stumbled upon Canyon Vista.

Other than traveling, Stevenson loves to be with his family. His favorite hobby is to hang out at the lake with his family. He has two boys, one in fourth and another in fifth grade. Just like their father, they have a huge interest in football.

When Coach Stevenson was growing up he wanted to be a football player. Before he was everyone’s favorite Coach, he had lived all around the world. Some of these places include Detroit, Houston, Thailand, Indonesia, every country in Europe except for Moldova you get the idea. If he could meet one celebrity he would meet the Dalai Lama. In his free time, Coach loves to hang out by the lake with his family and play fantasy football.

Stevenson is a great teacher to have around and never fails to make others smile.
