Google Fiber is an internet subscription. It is a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. It is easier to install than other internet. When you sign up for google fiber, you get a fiber jack(needs to be powered), and you can connect the fiber jack to the network box.

Google Fiber is a lot cheaper than other internet providers. Fiber is only available in 19 cities. Austin, Texas is one of them. Fiber is available in some parts of Austin and will be available for the rest of Austin soon.

Google Fiber has two internet plans: Fiber 100 and Fiber 1000. You can add tv or fiber phone to both these plans. Fiber 100 gets you up to 100mbps upload/download speeds and unlimited data for only $50/per month. Fiber 1000 gets you up to 1000mbps upload/download speeds, unlimited data, and 1 terabyte of cloud storage.

Since it is a lot easier to set up, Google Fiber is worth the money. The Fiber Phone plan is an extra $10 a month. Compared to other home phone plans it’s a lot cheaper.

So why does Google want to get into the internet market?

Google wants information, and now they can get it. They already track your location and search results, but now they can track anything you use the internet for. They will know what devices you have, and will know when your internet is active therefore knowing when you use the internet and on what device.

So like many other things Google Fiber has it’s pros and cons. It is time for internet users to make the ultimate decision.
