Halloween(1978) is number one on my list because it feels like reality. Out of all of the horror movies I have seen Halloween is the most plausible which makes it the most frightening. This list is based on plot, characters, and all around scariness. Halloween follows a serial killer Michael Meyers, an insane asylum escapee, in his attempt to eliminate as many teenagers as he can, it makes you feel uncomfortable for the characters when he stalks Lori and two kids she is babysitting on Halloween night. It is a great movie, my personal favorite. The only problem is the special affects aren't very good so it might not be as scary today, oh and the soundtrack is the best of this list.
