This Week in Pop-Culture 10/18/17

Hello there, and welcome to This Week in Pop Culture, where you can catch a glimpse of what’s going on in TV, Movies, and Music through the lens of a 8th grade student. I’m Keshav, and i’ll be taking over the series for a short while.

This week I’ll be taking a look at…Kingsman: The Golden Circle!

Our hero, Eggsy, is peacefully taking his taxi to go home and eat dinner when he is attacked by a former Kingsman trainee who got sent home due to selling out the spy organization. His extreme skills and technology save him from Charlie’s (former Kingsman trainee) wrath. Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a fast paced action movie with lots of plot twists and crazy action scenes. It would be advised to watch the first one, Kingsman: A Secret Service, because the 2nd one is a continuation to the first one. Kingsman gives the viewer a wild ride through its top notch acting, great story, and fast paced action.

To begin, I love action movies, especially ones with gun showdowns and fighting. The thrill of seeing two people: one, a highly trained spy, and the other an enemy with tons of guards and a lot of high-tech weaponry make them look amazingly cool. When I watched the trailer I was like “I have to watch it!”.

The movie is fantastic, giving clues and hidden references everywhere, while still keeping the same humor and style that we all know from action movies. The movie itself is very fast paced, while giving viewers a clear description of what is going on. This is good because some movies go too fast, making the viewer have some missing information, and not understanding the movie fully. Along with the charming story, the actors do an amazing job of portraying the characters that the director wanted.

The movie is about Eggsy, a Kingsman spy that has the technology, skill, and other Kingsman to save him from the dangers of the world. Charlie, who lost his arm in the Valentine incident, had a cybernetic arm which managed to hack into the Kingsman spy organization files. While Eggsy is away in Sweden a volley of missiles destroy the Kingsman franchises around England.

Eggsy is devastated as he and Merlin (Another Kingsman) are the only ones who are alive and the organization known as the Golden Circle are the ones who did this.Later when they go on a mission to stop the Golden Circle they find an enemy disguised as a friend, will he be the one to take down Kingsman or will the legacy go on.

The movie has many well known actors like Taron Egerton who stars in Sing,Robin-hood, and of course both the Kingsman movies.Colin Firth has starred in many British movies and TV shows. Of course every spy movie has to have a villain and Juliana Moore is your girl. She has starred in Jurassic Park: the Lost World and The Mockingjay.

Every movie has to have a creator and that is Matthew Vaughn.  His achievements include X-Men Days of the Future Past, The Fantastic Four, and X-Men First Class. But watching the entire movie really shows the amazing cinematography and acting, which makes this a solid movie in my book.
