Decoding The Science Of Dreams

Andrew Watson, Reporter

We all know what dreams are. Those weird experiences in your head during unconsciousness. They could be anything. From going into gladiatorial combat with your friends to fleeing the border with a cop, to having a literal gender war. (I have very strange dreams.) So you might ask: Why? Why are so many strange dreams and such strange things in them? Well, that’s why I am here. To tell you (in the form of a news article) what dreams mean.

So, first I looked up the top 20 dreams that are the most common. There were a lot of ones that were different, so I just got some of the most common ones.

So here are the top 20 10 most common dreams and what they mean:

  • Demons: Dreams about demons are bad overall. You dream about a demon constantly, that means someone is having a negative sort of mind, and its affecting you.

  • Drowning: Most likely now, if you are reading this, you aren't having financial troubles, so a dream about drowning means that you are "drowning in emotions" or, at least, afraid of drowning in emotions.

  • Falling: If you dream about falling, that means you have insecurities and anxieties. So most likely, you are introverted.

  • Being Late: That either means you hope your life can change for the better, or you think you are missing out on stuff. Like, I don't know, getting a girlfriend, good grades, being "cool" something like that.

  • D E A T H : It means the end of SOMETHING. Anything.

  • Running In Slow Motion: You have a lack of self-esteem, and self-confidence.

  • Flying : Flying emulates an escape from the pressures of reality.

  • Being Stuck While Trying To Run: I thought this meant the same thing as the slow motion but it doesn't. Basically, it just means you are ACTUALLY trying to run, but technically you can't because blankets and stuff are on you, you are upside down, and currently asleep, so your body is in power save mode.

  • Being Naked In Public: It means you are embarrassed about something others don't know about you.

  • Being In Your House: This one's kind of strange. The house represents your current identity, is the house all dark? Is it warped? All these are characteristics of you.
