Glistening white sand beaches and turquoise blue waters to rich forests and mystic mountains,  Jamaica is like heaven on an island. You may know Jamaica for their famous icons, like Bob Marley or Usain Bolt, but there is more to this country.

Jamaica’s shorelines are known for over 200 miles of pure and flawless beaches.These coasts attract over 2.5 million tourists each year, and a couple of our Mustangs too. Amy V., 7th grade student, said, “The beaches there are really beautiful. Some have water so clear you can see fish swimming through it.” All these visitors are attracted by the islands fascinating beauty, including lush tropical greens and mystical mountains. Christopher Columbus, who came from Spain described as it as “the most beautiful island he had ever seen.”

This country is also known for its lush tropical greens. These forests also include gleaming rivers and exotic plants. Hiking through the great mountains and zipping through the forest canopies in Jamaica are a great way to enjoy the scenery.

There are many water activities as well, including snorkeling, scuba diving, rafting and other water sports. In these crystal clear Caribbean waters, you can see extraordinary marine life and coral reefs. Rafting through the rivers and streams, you get to experience the real Jamaican culture on a bamboo float.

From hiking to rafting, from snorkeling to just sunbathing on the white sand, this island  has it all. Even just listening to the unique reggae music, you can enjoy the diverse Jamaican culture.
