As 2017 crossed the finish line, I can’t help but just think about all the things that have happened last year. With laughter and tears, we finally got through it! However, as 2017 goes, 2018 will be a lot of fun. There are going to be so many exciting events and innovations, like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding, The World Cup and midterm elections for President Trump’s term.

The royal wedding will be held in May, but specific dates are yet to be announced. Prince Harry has always been unconventional, and he wants his wedding to be that way too. Reports say that the ceremony will be casual and relaxed in a chapel in Windsor Castle. The venue is a royal residence in the English county of Berkshire. This may be unusual for Prince Harry’s family because this sounds like a typical American wedding. Everyone can’t stop obsessing over this going to be wedded couple because after all, it’s the American Dream!
The Olympic Winter Games is a major international sporting event held once every four years, for sports practiced on snow and ice. Even though America didn’t qualify, we’re still going to cheer for our favorite countries because I mean, why not? The event will be held in Pyeongchang, South Korea on February 9th till February 25th. The Olympic Winter Games will be making history, the record-setting Nigerian women’s bobsled team are determined to break all the records created before and I can’t wait to see who wins.
The 2018 United States elections will mostly be held on November 6, 2018. These midterm elections will take place in the middle of President Trump’s term. There will be a total of 468 seats in the U.S. Congress including 33 Senate seats and all 435 House of Representative seats. We can only wait and see what will happen, and hopefully, our country will stick together no matter what the results are.
With a “Frozen” musical, flights to Antartica, regular people going to the moon, new movies and a diving trip to the Titanic ship, 2018 is going to be a long but thrilling ride.
