“Come what come may, time and the hour run through the roughest day.”
– William Shakespeare

Here ye, here ye, come one, come all to the first theatre performance of the school year. To kick off the semester, the Canyon Vista Theatre Department will be putting on Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

Macbeth is a play set in medieval times about a man named Macbeth, who wants to be king, and has a few adventures along the way. That’s all I can say without spoiling it! To find out a little more about the play I went to the auditions to ask the directors a few questions. When I got there, I found Mrs. Crain and asked her how she felt about putting on one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays. “I’m so excited for the opportunity to put on one of Shakespeare’s most notorious plays to kick off the 2014 – 2015 theatre season,” she excitedly told me.

After having a quick chat with the actors I sat down to watch the auditions and I was pleasantly surprised! They had perfect pronunciation and their monologues completely memorized. Good job, auditionees, we can’t wait to see the real play!

Later, I hung out with the stage managers and Mr. Elliot to hear if there would be a lot of changes from the original script. But Mr. Elliot assured that he wouldn’t make any big changes, only time related edits. So don’t worry, fans of the arts, no content edits were made, so enjoy all the deaths you’d expect from classic Shakespeare.

All in all, I got the idea that Macbeth is going to be one of the best plays we’ve seen at Canyon Vista, so I would definitely suggest that you go see the performances on November 6th and 7th.
